Logan Energy Corp. is seeking an individual to fulfill the responsibilities of Senior Geologist in the Subsurface team. The role is responsible for assisting in the development of existing Logan assets and identifying new opportunities both near field and regionally.
Responsibilities
Field Development and well planning
•Conduct regional geologic mapping and asset level reservoir characterization to provide basin context and production expectations of asset segments.
•Work together with a geophysicist on 2D and 3D seismic interpretation to identify risks for well planning & field development and maintain structural surfaces for geosteering during drilling operations.
•Generate geological prognosis, coordinate and supervise remote geosteering or wellsite geologists for drilling operations.
•Asset Overburden mapping to identify operational risks or co development opportunities.
•Manage drilling inventory and collaborate with other team members to generate development plans for current and future drilling programs.
•Geologic support for production, completion and drilling optimization utilizing drilling metrics, pumping data, logs, production data, HC analysis and geochemical data.
•Provide Geologic support for reservoir simulation & HF modelling including facies or zone-specific reservoir properties mapping, in-situ stress regimes, expectations for CGR yield, & pressure.
•Work closely with the mineral land team to identify and recommend strategies to resolve tenure expiries.
•Work with Development engineers to understand disposal requirements and current reservoir capacities. Identify disposal opportunities and provide geotechnical support for regulatory applications.
Growth and Acquisition opportunities

•Generate digital geological mapping suites to calculate and map HCPV, OOIP and OGIP.
•Integrate relevant production data, employ analogs or simulation to provide a probability of well expectations. Lay out possible inventory and identified risks for valuation.
•Collaborate with the subsurface team to identify, evaluate and communicate opportunities to expand drilling inventory through land capture and strategic capital (M&A, land sales, swaps, farm-ins, studies, seismic, etc.)
