Canlin Energy Corporation is currently hiring for a full-time Geologist role based out of our Calgary office. The ideal candidate will possess a broad understanding and diverse experience throughout the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin. Preference will be given to candidates with Foothills experience. The successful candidate will be an integral member of the Development department with the opportunity to work one day per week from home.
Responsibilities:
•Collaborate with Engineers and Geoscientists to identify development opportunities, primarily focused on W5 Foothills assets in Alberta.
•Utilize geological, petrophysical, production and geophysical data to interpret and map existing reservoirs and identify potential upside resource within Mississippian and Cretaceous aged reservoirs, in both Clastic and Carbonate depositional settings.
•Understanding of the Foothills structural regime and play types.
•Strong decision-making skills, capable in making sound technical recommendations on Independent Operations Notices, Land Sales, Acquisition & Divestiture initiatives, while working within a multi-disciplinary team.
•Mentor junior Geoscientists and/or summer students as required.
•Other duties and projects, as assigned.
Qualifications/Experience:
•10+ years of broad-based oil and gas experience across the WCSB.
•APEGA registered Professional Geoscientist in good standing.
•Experience in the planning and execution horizontal drilling programs.
•A team player with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with multiple disciplines (Geophysics, Engineering, Land, Drilling and Completions) to achieve common corporate goals.
•Strong interpersonal and presentation skills with the ability to work on a variety of projects simultaneously.
•Previous experience using Petrel, Geoscout, working knowledge of Seisware.
