Cenovus U.S Services in Lima, Ohio is seeking an individual with technical expertise for fixed and rotating equipment, performing daily troubleshooting, evaluations, and repair recommendations to maintain asset health and operational reliability. Working in partnership with Reliability Engineers, the position helps drive safe performance and alignment with operating plans, Cenovus Engineering Practices, and industry codes. The engineer also supports turnaround activities across the facility and participates in a rotating on‑call schedule requiring occasional night or weekend availability. Relocation to Lima, Ohio is required and will be provided.

- Provide technical engineering support for fixed equipment, including troubleshooting, fitness‑for‑service assessments (API 579), and field evaluations to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- Lead and support Root Cause Analysis efforts and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance long‑term equipment reliability and work processes.
- Develop, track, and manage engineering work packages, action items, SAP scopes of work, and turnaround scope deliverables to ensure timely and accurate execution.
- Utilize reliability tracking systems and collaborate closely with the Area Business Team, Reliability Engineers, maintenance personnel, and turnaround planners to align priorities and resolve technical issues.
- Serve as Lift Planner/Director for critical lifts and ensure all engineering activities comply with site Engineering Practices, MOC standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Support team development by guiding junior engineers/co-ops and maintaining strong field engagement with maintenance and union craft personnel during job execution.
- Legally authorized to work in the US
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering
- 8+ years’ experience in refining or petrochemical environment, the Oil and Gas Industry or relevant industry experience- Knowledgeable in relevant ASME, API, and ISO standards and codes
- Comprehensive knowledge of the maintenance and operations of a refinery, including engineering, construction, and turnarounds.
