Primary Purpose
The Senior Field Engineer will support various field engineering aspects of Construction execution providing solutions to technical issues, interfacing with home office engineering team as needed, and supporting construction management. Works closely with site quality team for consistency of execution. Interfaces with Sempra permitting and regulatory compliance team and ensures that site documents are submitted timely. Participates in FERC and/or other regulatory visits. Accountabilities, responsibilities, and work area may be altered from time to time based on the needs of the organization and the project.
Duties and Responsibilities
•Oversee and monitor field engineering aspects of construction execution for a specific discipline (e.g. piping or civil). Ensure compliance with codes, engineering drawings, specifications, environmental guidelines, quality assurance programs and construction safety programs. Participates in FERC and/or other regulatory site visits, ensures submittals to agencies per requirements.
•Engage in safety briefings and attend site safety walkdowns.
•Reviews and/or prepares daily activity logs and detailed records.
•Oversees or witnesses, and ensures proper preservation of equipment, piping and permanent plant materials based on respective discipline’s scope.
•Develop a tracking log for field NCRs, and support in providing proper documentation for resolution NCRs and technical follow-up with involved parties.
•Collaborates and maintains positive relationship with the EPC Contractor and other project discipline members.
•Provides technical inputs for construction planning and execution.
•Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
•Bachelor's Degree Engineering or other technical discipline. Required Experience
•8 experience in major construction projects and experience with multiple disciplines and experience in Oil and Gas industry Required
•Experience with LNG, power plants or other large infrastructure construction projects including pre-commissioning experience. PreferredSkills and Abilities
•In-depth knowledge of environmental & safety requirements, industrial safety practices Advanced
•In-depth knowledge of construction best practices/techniques, and construction planning and scheduling Advanced
•In-depth knowledge of Quality Assurance & Quality Control best practices Intermediate
•In-depth knowledge of welding processes including NDT/ PWHT and applicable piping codes and standards Intermediate
•In-depth knowledge of piping, piping schedules, piping shop fabrication processes and best practices Intermediate
•In-depth knowledge of engineering, construction and safety codes & standards Advanced
•Strong understanding and ability to read and comprehend technical documents such as P&ID, Isometric Drawing, WPS/PQR, Piping Work & Test Packages; Primavera schedule Advanced
•Strong understanding of piping pneumatic & hydrostatic tests procedures and methods Advanced
•Strong understanding of rigging and heavy lifts construction best practices Advanced
