NACC Construction is continuing to grow and is hiring a Senior Safety Manager in Englewood, CO. The Senior Safety Manager reports to the NACC President and oversees internal environmental, health and safety staff and external third parties to ensure all work is performed in a safe and compliant manner. Manages, develops, and oversees the environmental, health and safety policies and procedures of the organization. Ensures the workplace is compliant with federal and state EPA, OSHA, local, and industry specific regulations and that periodic environmental, health and safety audits are conducted.
Duties/Responsibilities:
•Serve as company subject matter expert in all aspects of Environmental, Health and Safety
•Collaborates with senior management to develop, prepare, and implement EHS policies and procedures.
•Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, codes, and rules.
•Ensures compliance with applicable client-specific rules and Operator Qualifications.
•Ensures compliance with applicable federal and state recordkeeping and reporting.
•Works with internal and client EH&S staff to identify workplace hazards and mitigation strategies and minimize workplace injuries, incidents, and health problems.
•Provides periodic reviews of applicable training and recommends revisions, improvements, and updates.
•Provides technical and administrative support to the Company’s EH&S committee.
•Designs and may conduct employee training to applicable EH&S standards.
•Designs and conducts EH&S inspections and audits to assess program maturity and compliance with applicable regulations/requirements.
•Reviews accident and incident reports with internal staff to determine root causes and develop corrective action plans and mitigation strategies.
•Develops processes and procedures for EH&S professionals to screen projects and project sites before work commences, identifying safety-related risks.
•Review and approve the risk mitigation plan for each work site. Oversee the inspection of active project sites to evaluate ongoing work conditions to guarantee compliance.
•Liaise with external parties such as client and/or government-employed inspectors to evaluate the safety process and rules of construction sites.
•Work with project management teams and field workers to implement and devise solutions to EH&S related issues on project sites.
•Review and approve designs for disposal systems, evacuation plans, lighting, and ventilation to ensure minimum or no danger to the safety or health of the site guests or workers.
•Manage corrective actions for subcontractors and employees who fail to comply with minimum EH&S standards.
•Represent company in meetings with government bodies and other organizations on issues regarding workplace health and safety.
•Develop Pipeline Safety Management System based on API RP 1173
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
•Basic understanding of underground utility construction practices in urban settings, especially gas and electric distribution. Gas Transmission and electric undergrounding knowledge is a plus.

Education and Experience:
•Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, or related field is preferred.
•Minimum 10 years of safety experience in EPC/construction environment.
•Previous experience managing both internal and external safety staff required.
•Previous construction experience with public utilities
•Knowledge and experience with the means and methods of gas and electric distribution construction.
•Familiarity with pipeline safety management systems such as API RP 1173 or equivalent.
•Should hold a valid Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certificate
•Willing to travel to offices and jobsites in multiple states.
Salary: $140K-$165K
