About This Job

Trans Mountain Corporation operates Canada’s only pipeline system transporting oil products to the West Coast. We deliver approximately 890,000 barrels of petroleum products each day through a dual pipeline system of more than 1,150 kilometres of pipeline in Alberta, British Columbia and Washington state.

Trans Mountain also operates a state-of-the-art loading facility, Westridge Marine Terminal, with three berths providing tidewater access to global markets.

As a federal Crown corporation, Trans Mountain continues to build on more than 70 years of experience delivering operational and safety excellence through our crude oil pipeline system.

With our expanded pipeline system now in place, Trans Mountain provides enhanced direct access for Canadian crude oil to world markets. Reporting to the Director, HR Programs and IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity & Accessibility), the Senior Advisor, Leadership and Performance is responsible for leading the assessment, design, and integration of key enabling talent development programs that enhance workforce capability and support high-performance principles. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in enabling strategic and individual success across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the design and delivery of leadership development programs and workshops aligned with organizational culture and strategic goals.

- Develop engaging materials and presentations tailored to diverse audiences to foster learning and drive change.

- Facilitate training workshops that provide impactful learning experiences.

- Align organizational competencies with program outcomes to ensure relevance and effectiveness.

- Design and implement a leadership coaching offering to support talent development.

- Oversee the full cycle of the Performance Management program, including planning, communication, and execution.

- Apply succession planning principles (to support talent pipeline development.

- Partner with the Director, HR Programs and IDEA to identify and develop high-potential talent and career development processes for all employees.

- Collaborate with HR partners to integrate program outcomes into broader business and cultural initiatives.

- Create content for internal communications, web pages, and annual reporting requirements.

- Work with HR Systems and IT to enhance SuccessFactors functionality and optimize program delivery.

- Manage vendor relationships and coordinate external program delivery as needed.


Qualifications & Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. Human Resources, Organizational Development) or combination of relevant education and experience.

- Minimum ten years of experience in HR or a related discipline, with at least five years in program design and implementation.

- Experience with leadership and employee development program design, and familiarity with various leadership assessment tools.

- Coaching and/or adult learning certification is an asset.

- Proven experience in designing and supporting leaders in the execution of performance management and succession planning programs.

- Familiarity with change management principles is an asset.

- Creative, adaptable, and flexible approach to program design and stakeholder engagement.

- Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.

- Ability to engage with all levels of leadership and work independently.

- Strong project management and time management capabilities.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with SuccessFactors is an asset.
