Reporting to the Master Scheduler, the Scheduling Assistant utilizes the Enterprise Resource Planning system (ERP) to produce the customers’ orders in the most efficient, timely, and economical manner.
The Scheduling Assistant serves the organization in 5 key areas:
•Support scheduling with data entry (work order data) into the ERP system
•Support shipping by creating shipping documents (BOL, packing lists, shipping labels)
•Support scheduling with outside processing data and receiving product into the ERP system for shipment to the customer
•Support shipping and scheduling by doing cycle counts and reviewing shop floor data for accuracy
•Support shipping and Extrusions with billet receiving and inventory as needed
Essential Duties and responsibilities:
•Maintain ERP to ensure accuracy for scheduling
•Generates manufacturing work orders using Material Planning System (MPS) planned order requirements (CPO) generating purchase requisitions for outside process and outside manufacturing services as required to meet customer delivery requirements.
•Interfaces with manufacturing, customer service, and finance to ensure on time delivery performance is met.
•Ensure data accuracy for dispatch schedules for departments and reporting for sales and management review.
•Review, along with Manager, Dispatch Lists to be used by Production Supervision.
•Perform cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy and ERP accuracy.
•Responsible for generating necessary production scheduling related reports as necessary as well as locking in production schedule, issuing work orders for both presses.
•All other duties as assigned.
•Experience with scheduling in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
•Must be able to work in a team atmosphere and communicate with other departments
•Must be a dependable, self-starter who can meet deadlines.
•Understanding of Microsoft Excel and Outlook
•Some data analysis required
•At minimum, a basic understanding of ERP systems
Schedule:
•Work schedule is typical Monday-Friday with weekend availability to ensure the production schedule is being met.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.50 - $20.00 per hour
