SUMMARY
The SCADA Systems Engineer will serve as a member of the SCADA & IT team and will be primarily responsible for configuring, testing and maintaining enterprise level systems such as Terra-Gen’s Monarch EMS/SCADA system and enterprise historian. They will collaborate with the operations team to resolve daily technical issues and serve as technical experts to enhance the organization's technical capabilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
(Other duties may be assigned as needed)
•Adhere to, support, and comply with all company safety and environmental policies and practices. Ensures all employees, contractors, and visitors conduct themselves safely and within company policies and regulatory guidelines.
•Program, configure, and integrate new renewable energy sites—including wind, solar, and battery energy storage systems—into Terra-Gen’s centralized Monarch EMS/SCADA system, CHRONUS, and enterprise historian.
•Design and maintain SCADA signal databases, alarm logic, control logic sequences, openCALC executables and real-time data visualization for remote operations.
•Develop and test SCADA screen graphics, dashboards, and control room interfaces to ensure consistent and reliable operator experience across sites.
•Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to gather site-specific requirements and translate them into functional SCADA solutions.
•Create, review, and maintain project documentation such as SCADA points lists, controls narratives, data flow diagrams, and test plans.
•Ensure SCADA implementations meet market and interconnection control requirements, including ISO/RTO specifications such as CAISO and ERCOT.
•Ensure alignment with all applicable NERC/CIP cybersecurity and reliability standards.
•Identify and address deficiencies in SCADA and EMS systems to improve data quality, control performance, and system reliability.
•Perform regularly scheduled system maintenance tasks.
•Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to respond to critical SCADA and control room issues after business hours.
•Collaborate with operations, development, engineering, and IT teams to ensure new site integrations support long-term operational objectives.
•Ability to travel up to 25% or more if required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE
•Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or another applicable technical field.
•3+years of experience with utility or renewable EMS and SCADA systems.
•Knowledge of principles around SCADA engineering.
•Working knowledge of OSI Monarch EMS and SCADA.
•Knowledge of industrial automation protocols including but not limited to; Modbus RTU/TCP, DNP3, OPC UA and DA.
•Proficient with programming languages including but not limited to; C, C++, Java, Python, Structured Text (IEC61131-3).
•Experience with common SCADA database structures, including in-memory, relational (RDBMS), time-series, and NoSQL databases.
•Experience with enterprise historians such as PI or Canary.
•Authorized to work in the U.S.

The posted compensation is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in California. This salary range may also be modified in the future, depending upon skills, experience, education, and geographical location.
