About the role: We are seeking an entry level or experienced Sales Development Representative to drive sales appointments and book quality discovery calls. This is a highly visible role in a growing and integral division of our organization. This role requires sound sales ability and the ability to work as part of a team. In this role, you will be communicating with prospective customers via phone and text to answer preliminary questions about the benefits of solar for their property and when appropriate, book an introductory call with one of our Solar Sales Professionals.

- Communicates with prospective customers who recently showed interest in our services via phone
- Answers preliminary questions provides prospective customer with answers about benefits of solar power for their home or business
- Qualifies prospective customers to ensure they can benefit from our service
- Books 15-20 qualified discovery calls per day through company scheduling software
- 20+ phone calls per day- 20-30 SMS/text platform interactions per day
- 20-30 email exchanges with prospective customers per day
- Relays prospective customers’ needs to Solar Sales Consultants & Sales Development Manager to ensure optimal solution is delivered
- Maintains an organized account of all upcoming and past bookings, ensuring discovery calls are conducted
- Reschedules and follows up with prospective customers to ensure discovery call is conducted
- Through training, demonstrates expert knowledge of “big picture” talking points about solar energy
- Attends training meetings and sales meetings to ensure continuous improvement of performance
- Continuous outreach to existing pipeline of prospective customers
- Works with Sales Development Manager on special projects as required
- Collaborates with Sales Development Manager Generation to ensure discovery consultations are well-qualified and strategically booked
- Develops & masters professional sales competencies
- Must be focused, motivated, ambitious, and reliable
- Must be good and fast on a computer
- Ability to work under autonomy
- Ability to use cloud-based software (Salesforce, SMS, Email, Microsoft teams, for company meetings) and troubleshoot through basic computer/technology issues
- Previous experience in sales, or a very strong work ethic
- 1-2 years of positive work experience
- Excellent phone skills
- Strong written communication skills (proper grammar & email etiquette)
- Professional organizational competencies (detail-oriented, prepared, punctual)
- Keen attention to detail, accuracy, and completeness
- Bachelors Degree preferred
