Purpose Of Role
Reporting to the Health and Safety Manager , the Health and Safety Technician is responsible for assisting with ensuring compliance with MSHA regulations, safety training and education programs, and assisting with investigations into safety incidents. Additionally, the Health & Safety Technician will assist the Health & Safety Specialist with the collaborat ion with the leadership team to improve safety protocols, coordinate emergency response drills, and ensure all safety documentation is up-to-date and readily available for audits and inspections.
Role Accountabilities
As a Safety Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and promoting a culture of safety at the Copper World Project. Your primary responsibilities will include:
Health and Safety Support
- Conducting routine safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with MSHA regulations.
- Assisting in the implementation of corrective actions and safety improvements.
- Supporting the development and updating of safety policies and procedures.
- Monitoring training expiration dates to ensure timely re-certification.
- Assisting with the coordination and logistics of MSHA training courses, including new miner and annual refresher training.
- Providing support during incident and near-miss investigations by gathering information, documenting findings, and assisting with root cause analysis.
- Assisting in the preparation of detailed incident reports.
- Participating in emergency response drills and helping to ensure all employees are familiar with safety procedures.
- Assisting with the coordination of emergency response plans and equipment checks.
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience: Entry-level
- Physical: Ability to work in various conditions, including outdoor environments and industrial settings, and lift and move up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a mining or industrial environment

- Proficiency with basic computer applications

Employee will be expected to drive a company vehicle, rental vehicle and/or his/her own vehicle in the course of performing the job, Employee must be able to perform the physical functions of operating a motor vehicle, including use of eyes, ears, arms, hands, legs, and feet. Employee must be able to prove that he/she has a current and valid driver's license.
