The SR400 Express Lanes Project is a transformative $4.6 billion infrastructure initiative led by SR400 Constructors, a 50/50 joint venture between Flatiron Dragados and ACCIONA. Commissioned by the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) and Georgia State Road and Tollway Authority (SRTA), the project will add two 16-mile express lanes from Sandy Springs MARTA Station (Exit 5) to McFarland (Exit 12), enhancing mobility along one of Georgia’s busiest corridors. With a peak workforce of over 500, the project also includes dedicated bus rapid transit stations and significant improvements to the corridor. Construction began in late 2022, with substantial completion anticipated in 2031.

We are seeking a dedicated Safety Coordinator to join our team on the SR 400 Constructors. This role is vital in ensuring a safe and healthy workplace by providing inspection, evaluation, training, and technical support. The ideal candidate will be passionate about safety, proactive in identifying risks, and committed to building a strong safety culture where the protection of people and the public is never sacrificed for production.

Job Description

- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to verify compliance with OSHA, GDOT, and project specific safety management plans requirements.

- Support daily risk assessments, toolbox talks, and safety meetings across the project segments.

- Assist in safety orientations and refresher training for employees, subcontractors, and visitors.

- Conduct incident and near-miss reporting, investigations, and corrective action tracking.

- Maintain accurate safety documentation and reports using our safety management software.

- Provide technical guidance on hazard recognition, safe work practices, PPE usage, and emergency preparedness.

- Promote and reinforce organizational safety values and expectations at all times

Required Qualifications

Required Skills and Competencies

- High School Diploma or GED.

- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months).

- Minimum of 3 years’ safety or construction experience (for Specialist II) or 7+ years’ experience (for Specialist III).

- Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety principles, hazards, and regulatory requirements.

- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence teams.

- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and comfort with digital safety reporting systems.

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, or related engineering field.

- Professional safety certification (CHST, STS, ASP, or CSP).

- Experience supporting large DOT or heavy civil projects.

- Familiarity with MUTCD traffic control safety requirements and GDOT Technical Provisions.
