About Our Operation

The Support and Development Center provide services to Agnico Eagle's various Canadian and / or international mining operations in a variety of areas, including administration, financial services, IT, supply chain, human resources, communications, construction as well as technical services (geology, engineering, metallurgy, infrastructure, marketing, innovation, and digital transformation).

Do you dream of better understanding rock mass behaviours that you have observed underground and on surface? Are you frustrated by not being able explain these observations and to implement mitigation measures? Are you interested in coordinating and managing the geotechnical team to integrate these findings into projects and studies? Are you interested in participating in the development, implementation and refinement of AEM geotechnical standards? If you answered « yes » the rock mechanics manager position as part of Agnico Eagle’s Technical Services Geotechnical Team is for you. Reporting to the Geotechnical Advisor, the rock mechanics manager supervise and works with the members of Geotechnical Team and in collaboration with the other departments of Technical Services. He/she will be responsible for tasks related to rock mechanics studies to develop various projects, or support AEM’s mining operations.

The candidate may, on occasion, be required to provide technical support to Agnico Eagle’s divisional engineering teams. He/she will also participate in drafting recommendations with internal stakeholders to identify the necessary actions to implement to ensure the sustainability of existing and future mineral reserves. The Rock Mechanics Engineer will have to collaborate with other technical specialists in other disciplines, including geology, hydrology, mining, metallurgy, infrastructure and environment.
