This is a fully remote Revenue Accounting Manager Consultant role. This role will be needed on a recurring monthly basis for approximately 1 to 2 weeks each month. We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Revenue Accounting Manager to support our growing upstream oil and gas assets. The successful candidate will have a strong background in oil and gas accounting, data analysis, and process improvement. This role will be responsible for managing, reviewing and optimizing the Revenue Accounting processes, ensuring accurate and timely preparation of analysis and distribution of financial reports to cross-functional stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have at least 7 years of relevant industry experience, with progressing levels of responsibility and a strong background in systems innovation, automation, and technology implementation.
Working United States central time work hours is required for this role.
- Lead and oversee the Revenue Accounting functions, ensuring complete, accurate and timely reporting of financial metrics, analysis, and key operational metrics for the organization’s upstream assets.
- Lead monthly close for operated and non-operated revenue – accruals, reporting, compliance.
- Ensure that Operator’s Revenue statements are recorded properly across all wells in the system based on company’s share.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of check requests for payment: Monthly: ORRI payments, Severance tax, Royalties, ONRR billings and others as needed.
- Ensure accurate production volumes, sales volumes, pricing, severance tax, oil stock variation, transportation. expense, and marketing fees for monthly, quarterly and YTD actual and forecast reporting.
- Oversee Revenue monthly accrual process for production, sales volumes, prices and revenue.
- Review and monitor regulatory filings for states and federal royalty and production reporting.
- Manage volume allocations for producing wells.
- Review contracts to ensure that revenue is recorded accurately.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, marketing, regulatory, and division order to ensure seamless data integration between various systems and efficient communication.
- Maintain robust reporting processes, internal controls, data reconciliation and GL account reconciliations.
- Lead process improvement initiatives within the accounting organization, including identifying, recommending and implementing solutions that streamline workflows, reduce errors, and optimize reporting timelines.
- Provide data and support as necessary for tax, internal and external audit and various internal departments.
- Ad hoc requests and other assignments designated by management.

- Bachelor’s or higher degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
- 7+ years of relevant industry experience in accounting and data analysis for an E&P operator within the upstream oil & gas sector.- Expertise in Accounting and Production software such as Enertia, ProCount and other upstream systems preferred.
- Understands gas plant/midstream statements and marketing contracts, including fees and adjustments and their proper accounting.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and reporting concepts.
- Proficiency in data analysis, SQL queries, and data visualization tools such as Power BI, Spotfire, and Excel.
- Strong analytical and Excel skills with the ability to interpret large datasets and translate them into actionable insights.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to convey complex data insights and reports to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Ability to remain professional, positive, determined, and focused when facing challenging situations.
- Deep knowledge of revenue cycles, regulatory frameworks, and ERP systems (Quorum a plus).
