Revenue Accountant - Advisor

Works independently on complex oil and gas allocations and marketing arrangements, proficient in gas balancing and understands inventory accounting. Must be very knowledgeable regarding integration between Production Accounting, Revenue, Land Administration and Marketing functions.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

- Must be familiar with impact of revenue transactions on profit and loss and balance sheet statements

- Must be well versed with regulations related to ONRR, state, Tribal and private royalty owners.

- Performs variance analysis and reconciles transactions through the general ledger balances in a timely and accurate manner.

- Prepares Regulatory Reports for highly complicated fields including States of Alaska, Louisiana, Texas, Wyoming and New Mexico.

- Prepares federal (ONRR) and state royalty and tax reports and makes related general ledger (G/L) entries to record/clear payments.

- Prepares accounts receivable reconciliation report and resolves outstanding balances for assigned properties on a monthly basis.

- Prepares general ledger (G/L) account reconciliation report and reconciles and clears balances for assigned accounts on a monthly basis.

- Prepares gas balancing statements and pipeline reconciliation reports.

- Prepares invoices for royalties and taxes paid for partners on a monthly basis.

- Prepares sales variance analysis and explains major sales fluctuations for assigned properties on a monthly basis.

- Performs special projects that require knowledge of oil and gas revenue accounting.

- Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional associations.

- May supervise other staff members as assigned.

Qualifications:

- Twelve (12) years minimum experience in oil and gas revenue accounting.

- Must possess strong collaboration and verbal and written communication and technical accounting skills.

- Ability to solve problems accurately and exhibit exceptional proficiency in data management, including spreadsheet proficiency.

- Ability to remain professional, positive, determined and focused when facing challenging situations.

- Ability to make effective presentations to large audiences.

- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, officials, and the public.

- Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities.

- Outstanding administrative and organizational skills.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with specific ability to translate complex operational information into an organized and presentable manner.

- Very well versed with ERP systems.

- Proficiency in the use and application of the following software:

- Required: Microsoft Office (Advanced Excel, Word and Outlook).

- Preferred: Working knowledge of oil and gas accounting systems.

Education Requirements:

- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year university or college with a degree in account, Masters in Accounting and/or CPA (preferred).
