Job Summary
The Reservoir Engineering Specialist provides advanced technical support to reservoir engineering teams. Performs a range of complex activities involving data acquisition and storage, report generation, data quality maintenance, and process improvement. Provides user support for software systems. Serves as a resource within the functional area. Guides others in resolving complex issues and may lead functional teams or projects.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Manages operated and non-operated properties within Aries Reserves database, including all PDP and future well master data, their production forecasts, and economic assumptions.
- Assists engineers in running economic scenarios and analyzing data for well approvals.
- Collaborates with engineers to optimize type curves and maintain all related data in Aries Type Curve database.
- Manages mid-year and year-end reserves processes.
- Accumulates and effectively organizes data from multiple sources for engineering analyses.
- Develops, implements, and maintains standardized technical processes for reservoir engineering and support team functions.
- Creates and maintains internal and third-party databases and economic evaluations.
- Develops, compiles, assembles, and distributes complex reports.
- Responsible for loading/entering, verifying, manipulating, and reporting data across multiple functional areas.
- Initiates and develops highly accurate and reliable data analyses and reporting methodologies.
- Provides expert-level data cleanup based on data quality reports and performs basic analysis for engineering and analytics projects.
- Monitors new technologies and draws upon expertise to make recommendations for further exploitation of existing technologies.
- Mentors and trains junior staff; creates training content and executes across the team and organization.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Works well independently and with a team under little to no supervision to provide accurate data for engineering-related analyses.
- Principle-level industry knowledge and understanding of multi-disciplinary engineering theories, principles, and practices.
- Drives change by improving and streamlining processes with maximum impact across the organization.
- Flexible and able to handle multiple tasks at one time.
- Ability to work and deliver on short timelines.

- Computer proficiencies:
- Knowledge in the following is considered a plus:
- Databricks, Power BI, ProCount, SAP, WellView, SiteView
- High school diploma (or GED).
- Minimum of eight (8) years of related industry experience.
- Intermediate-level skills in Aries software.
- An acceptable pre-employment background and drug test.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Advanced-level skills in Aries software.
- Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, and stooping.
- Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
