Attend formal and informal peer reviews, providing feedback and assurance

Coach and mentor junior staff to increase the overall capability of asset geoscientists

Keep involved and support the appropriate Communities of Practice and Networks (e.g., sed/strat)

Keep aware of external advances in RQ through attendance of relevant conferences and/or RQ-related consortium meetings (e.g. Geocosm RQC, BASIC)

Develop towards recognition as a bp subject matter expert, and where appropriate, publish high quality innovative technical work internally and externally e.g. at industry-wide conferences and formal manuscript publications

When appropriate, develop and or test new software, internal and external.

Education: MSc Geology degree; preferably PhD level.

Essential experience and job requirements:

A good understanding of, and ability to integrate with, other subsurface subject areas (Petrophysics, Geophysics, Reservoir Engineering).

Reservoir quality (RQ) technical excellence (minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience is desired)

Proficiency in RQ prediction using Touchstone and Tmap software (Geocosm) is desired

An ability to scope and coordinate RQ projects (occasionally involving external contractors), to deliver high-quality products and technical guidance of individuals and teams (good mentoring skills)

Ability to develop standard methodology, products and improve analysis tools and workflows

Strong communication skills (written and verbal). Experienced with presenting to senior management to influence both vertically and horizontally in the organization

Ability to context switch while supporting more than one team at pace with the ability to pragmatically right-scope products

Experience in more than one of the following: reservoir management, exploration, appraisal, and/or early field development

Be collaborative and work closely with project teams and technical experts locally or in remote offices

Bias for action – proactive and engages before being asked or forced

Good business sense, with ability to deliver quality technical work within project timelines and budgets and balance multiple projects concurrently. Must have the flexibility to rapidly adapt to new project groups and technical areas
