Rental Coordinator / Tooling Technician

TOOLING TECHNICIAN and CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE

DMC Power manufactures connectors for the electrical utility industry. The work environment is clean ISO manufacturing facility located in Carson, CA. Specific work involves mechanical hand tools, electrical and hydraulics as well as clerical functions.

Responsibilities:

· 40% Time. Warehouse, shipping, and tool maintenance for rental department.

Perform shipping and receiving, inventory counting. Clean and maintain hand tools associated with rental department. Basic tool assembly, testing, and repair associated with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic tools.

· 60% Time. Act as the liaison between sales, operations and business-to-business customers, managing all steps throughout the sales process.

Receive emails and phone calls, cross reference customer RFQ’s, process quotes, review and input orders, manage the production of parts, provide updates on order status, handle customer returns and other regular duties as assigned. The candidate must be able to effectively communicate with all need-to-know parties any/all findings that could affect scheduling, inventories and order fulfillment.

DMC Power considers both experienced and less experienced candidates. We are willing to train if you have basic skills and a good attitude.

Work Environment:

· This is a clean small office suite with attached warehouse.

· Position requires some direct customer interaction.

· Intermittent periods of physical exertion such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting and maneuvering material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward, is required.

· Environment is typically comfortable but with regular exposure to factors such as temperature extremes, moving machinery and loud noise.

Requirements:

· High School Diploma or GED required

· 2+ years of equivalent experience preferred.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

· Positive attitude a must. We are willing to train positive, capable candidates about our tooling and processes.

· High level of critical thinking, problem-solving and analytical skills.

· Must use independent discretion for decision-making.

· Must be self-motivated and willing to motivate others.

· Extremely focused and detail-oriented.

· Exceptional customer service and communication skills – via phone and email.

· Must be able to compose and reply to a heavy volume of emails in a highly business-professional manner therefore exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are a must.

· Proficient with Microsoft Office products.

· Knowledge of JD Edwards software preferred or capable to learn manufacturing software.

· Wired Contact customer management software preferred.

· Basic mechanical aptitude or knowledge.

· Able to lift 50 lbs.

· Good record for driving company vehicles. Driving is infrequent and not required.

· Able to operate or capable of learning to drive a forklift is desired.
