The Savannah Division has an opening for a Maintenance Coordinator/Technician, working in a heavy steel warehouse environment.
The position is responsible for the functions necessary to load, unload, cut, inspect, package mark, and prepare material that is processed on internal equipment.

Essential Functions:
•Diagnoses and repairs, services and inspects facility equipment and property to include: overhead cranes, production machinery, material handling equipment and facility grounds
•Reviews work requests to determine problem and resolution, arranges schedules and delegates assignment in a manner that results in minimum equipment downtime
•Complies with company and OSHA safety policies and safe work practices, e.g. lock out/tag out, safety data sheets and hazardous material usage
•Operates industrial equipment and observes mechanical operation to determine efficiency and to detect problems
•Troubleshoots, inspects or tests damaged machine parts, and marks defective areas and notifies the operations manager of repair needs and problems that might affect production schedules or quality of products produced
•Performs building and equipment maintenance, repair and improvements.
•Performs preventative maintenance on CNC machinery, electrical and hydraulic systems, overhead cranes and other fabricating equipment including lubrication, cleaning and other steps recommended by the manufacturers
•Coordinates the installation or changes to machine parts, attachments and new equipment according to production specifications
•Purchases maintenance supplies and services
•Coordinates PM and repair services with approved vendors
•Records repairs, PM’s and machine maintenance in the PM Expert work order system
•Maintains equipment files and orders spare parts inventory on equipment
•Drives company motor vehicle (non-DOT) occasionally for local pickup of parts or equipment. A valid and current driver’s license in good standing is required
•Performs other duties as assigned
•On-call and weekend work required
•Performs operator certification training: forklift, overhead crane, jockey truck, man-lift,
•Local policy maintenance: EAP, PPE matrix, Lockout Tagout, Exposure Control Plan, Hot Work, HazCom and confined spaces
•Monthly facility assessment
•Perform and maintain equipment inspection records: overhead crane, forklifts, below-the-hook devices
•Perform sub-contractor safety orientations
Position Qualifications:
•High / Technical School graduate or equivalent
•Ability to analyze, troubleshoot and perform repairs
•Must possess a minimum of 5 years in maintenance in a production/manufacturing environment
•Ability to comprehend electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, HVAC and plumbing drawings or diagrams
•Knowledge of: electricity, electrical codes, NFPA 70E, OSHA Regulations
•Experienced in operating overhead cranes, forklifts, boom and scissor lifts, hand tools and common shop machinery
•Basic measuring skills to read English and Metric systems and use of tape measures, calipers and micrometers
•Ability to interface effectively with all departments to foster a success –oriented, deadline driver organization
•Ability to demonstrate professionalism and diplomacy to both internal and external customers
•Computer literacy to include Microsoft Office products and basic knowledge of NC and CNC programming
•Must have strong analytical, organizational and decision-making skills to execute and manage effectively
•Must be highly motivated, results-oriented individual with the ability to lead and manager others
Physical Requirements:
•Manual lifting and carrying material up to 75lbs.
•Bending, squatting, stooping, walking and climbing.
•Pulling, pushing and lifting material while manually retrieving or positioning.
•Reaching, guiding, placing and prying.
•Work in heat/cold and extreme weather conditions.
•Regularly required to work on multiple concurrent tasks with interruptions
•Must wear required PPE: hard hat with chin strap, safety glasses, safety toe w/ met. guard shoes, hand protection and arm guards when required, hearing protection when required, fall protection when required
