Rental Technician
to join our team in Broussard, LA. This individual will be responsible for ensuring that equipment put on the rental ready line is ready to make a successful rental by cleaning, servicing, and testing each piece of equipment according to established service requirements.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities•Understand the operation of equipment as to application, capabilities, limitations, starting, stopping, servicing, correct loading, and safety issues.
•Ensure all needed accessories for rental equipment are included, loaded and added to the unit.
•All rental units must be checked out prior to being sent to customer locations; with the proper paperwork completed.
•Load/unload equipment for customers using care to avoid any damage to vehicle.
•Properly secure every load, every time.
•Check equipment in upon return, ensuring that damage, or any missing items or parts are noted on the paperwork.
•Clean equipment after each rental. Follow service procedures for each item.
•Responsible for all bench repair work.
•Responsible for assembly of new regulators.
•Must have knowledge of and adhere to company policies and all department procedures at all times.
•Keep the work area clean and orderly, with daily cleaning of the yard, wash bay, bench area, rental storage items, etc.
•When requested, assist in training other employees to minimize equipment downtime and ensure high standards in equipment readiness.
•Demonstrate responsibility and a strong work ethic by performing duties with minimal supervision, ensuring tasks are completed timely, accurately and efficiently.
•Ensure consistent attendance and punctuality by reporting to work when scheduled.
•Able to operate forklifts competently and safely.
•Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
•High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
•Six (6) months’ experience in a manufacturing environment or in an equipment rental department preferred.
Specific Knowledge, Skills, Licenses, Certifications, Etc
•Must be able to read and perform basic math calculations easily.
•Must be trainable in various aspects of production techniques.
•Must have strong general mechanical skills.
•Must be able to concentrate in a busy work environment.
•Must be detail-oriented in order to maintain a high level of quality, keep accurate accounts of time and production, keep production on schedule and maintain a safe working environment
•Ability to identify equipment by various names and provide relative information.
•Knowledge of routine maintenance and trouble-shooting requirements of all rental equipment.
Physical Demands And Conditions
Environment: Work is performed in an indoor ventilated shop environment although frequent visits in an outdoor environment must be made with occasional/moderate exposure to fumes, mists, odors, dust, gases, oil, grease, dirt, poor lighting, mechanical and electrical hazards, welding flashes, burns, accumulated fluid, and all types of weather and temperature conditions including high humidity.
Physical: Primary functions require physical ability and mobility to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time; to frequently sit, crawl, turn, twist, bend, kneel, crouch, balance, grasp, feel, handle, and make repetitive hand movement in the performance of daily duties; to occasionally climb on ladders or stairs; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull moderate to heavy amounts of weight; to operate assigned equipment and vehicles. This position may work in confined spaces, cramped quarters, and at heights, with occasional exposure to pinch points and moving objects. This position requires constant eye-hand coordination and foot-hand-eye coordination and ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to exchange information. Personal protective equipment (PPE), including steel toe shoes and safety glasses, must be worn at all times while in the indoor/outdoor shop environment; occasional safety face shield (full face) required.
Vision: See near/far with or without correction.
Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
