As part of a multidisciplinary team of experienced professionals, you will provide the technical support necessary to ensure reliable and efficient operations. You will provide solutions to chronic equipment problems and initiate or participate in equipment failure studies. You will also analyze equipment performance reports to identify and implement improvement opportunities so that your area's reliability is not only maintained but increased.
Minimum Requirements:
•Engineering degree with Professional Engineering (P.Eng.) designation (preferred)
•7 years of technical experience in the Oil & Gas or petrochemicals industry
•Knowledge of process equipment and design, operations, and failure mechanisms
•Experience in Maintenance and Reliability practices
•Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis investigations, with training in TapRoot
•Strong understanding of SAP tools
•Demonstrated Non-Authoritative Leadership skills to influence PUT operations.
•Familiarity with required jurisdictional codes and standards, i.e., ABSA, TSSA, TSBC, RBQ, T-Sask, PHMSA
Responsibilities:
•Support the Production Unit Team as a non-core member, focusing on OEMS Manage Threats to Availability (MTA) long-term threats to availability and the Manage Equipment Strategy (MES) “Analyze & Improve” sub-process to deliver desired and consistent business outcomes
•Collaborate with Terminal Operations to provide technical support for equipment and identify reliability improvement opportunities to increase availability and utilization of Midstream Production Unit Teams assets. This will include asset performance trending, analysis of reliability performance indicators, asset criticality ranking, equipment and sparing strategy reviews, quality investigations on equipment failures (including LOPCs) and completion of corrective actions
•Support the long-range capital planning process, major event calendar and maintenance work process through work scope development and decision support packages
•Provides input into the Production Unit Teams risk register. Supports risk assessments by validating risks and recommending short- and long-term plans for mitigation.
•Leads the implementation of reliability initiatives and programs across the Production Unit Teams.
•Provides reliability input into the terminal maintenance budget.
•Ensures that pressure equipment, tanks and PRDs are in schedule for inspection or support deferrals and interval change request to ensure compliance of regulation.
•Analyzes equipment history to identify reliability improvement opportunities in existing and developing systems (e.g. Bad Actors).
•Support project development and engineering to ensure proper scope development for RM&C capital, turnover and integration into existing reliability programs.
•Supports the Asset Strategy Engineer in developing asset information & strategy for the site, including determination of asset criticality, validation of strategies for equipment, and monitoring of performance information.
Location & Other Key Details:
•This is an office-based role. You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
•Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
•Monthly travel will be required, including into the USA.
