Crescent Energy is seeking a
Regulatory Compliance Analystto support upstream and downstream operations in Texas and ensure the company is compliant with the Texas Railroad Commission (RRC), and other agencies. This professional will support the development of permitting strategies, work across disciplines to ensure alignment, and take ownership of the permitting process. The ideal candidate must have prior regulatory experience in the oil and gas industry, and familiarity with RRC requirements and website. This position will report to the Land and Regulatory Manager and is in downtown Houston, Texas.
Essential Job Functions
- Prepare, submit, and track all regulatory and permitting activities associated with drilling and operations of wells including BLM APDs, GAU, W-2/G-1, P-12, P-16, P-4, flaring exceptions (SWR32), sundry notices, commingling applications (P-17), etc.
- Manage deadlines and coordinate with internal teams and external agencies to ensure alignment with applicable federal, state, and local permitting standards, and obtain timely approvals.
- Monitor regulatory changes that impact permitting requirements.
- Manage Drilling H-9s prior to spudding and production sample analysis program, including scheduling sampling, completing H-9s, and tracking when new analysis is needed.
- Track flaring and venting, and file for appropriate permits as needed with RRC in preparation for necessary hearings.
- Track new production, completions, and new facilities for regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate the filing of Critical Infrastructure Designation, Weather Emergency Readiness Attestation, and Emergency Operations Plan with the RRC to ensure compliance (SWR65/66).
- Anticipate the regulatory needs of the company and effectively communicate requirements and expectations.
- Prepare reports for management and provide timely and accurate updates in operations meeting.
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in Regulatory permitting, assessment, consulting, compliance, and remediation practices within the oil and gas industry.
- Excellent communication and project management skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Self-motivated team player able to efficiently, effectively, and timely progress projects.
