The Senior Manager Regional Sales is responsible for leading and directing the new equipment sales team to drive sales performance with a focus on meeting and exceeding short- and long-range sales goals in the assigned region. This role involves developing and executing strategic sales plans to achieve regional targets and drive revenue growth. Additionally, the Senior Manager Regional Sales is responsible for overseeing the recruitment, training, and performance of the regional sales team, ensuring they are motivated and equipped to meet their goals. This includes monitoring sales metrics and providing reporting on performance against targets. This role requires frequent travel within the region to support and manage the sales team effectively.
Roles And Responsibilities
- Designs and directs the work of the functional area.
- Selects, coaches and develops the team, setting objectives that align with company strategy to inspire and motivate the team.
- Oversees the recruitment, training, and performance of the regional sales team.
- Manages organizational talent through performance management, succession planning and development.
- Designs and directs processes by which team and individual performance are recognized, feedback is consistently delivered and performance is systematically improved.
- Creates strategic sales plans to meet regional targets and drive revenue growth.
- Advises sales representatives on their current deals
- Reviews customer activity, anticipates consumer needs and improves customer satisfaction.
- Establishes and maintains key customer relationships.
- Regularly joins sales representatives on sales calls.
- Ensures the proper use of CRM databases and tools to track performance.
- Analyzes sales metrics and report on performance against targets.
- Optimizes the sales process and tactics
- Monitors market trends and provides regular competitor analysis.
- Builds strong and collaborative relationships with other internal stakeholders
- Locates opportunities to expand client base.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in a business or engineering related field
- Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in a Sales Leadership position
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience working in a direct selling role.
- Experience driving strategic objectives and programs that increase overall revenue
- In-depth knowledge of selling strategies and methods, as well as employee motivation techniques
- Ability to develop a strong working knowledge of the company’s products, competitive products and the market
- Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
- Great strategic planning, organizational and creative thinking skills with the ability to be hands-on
- Working knowledge of business enterprise systems (e.g. FieldServio, SAP, ADP, etc.)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook
- Master’s Degree or equivalent experience in a business-related field
- Working knowledge of the dynamics between distribution and the subsequent end user;
- Proven success in developing and fostering business relationships within distribution;
- Experience managing a field-based sales team.
