The Sales Manager is responsible for achieving revenue and margin targets through the direction and development of their team of Account Managers. This role is responsible for managing organizational sales by developing business plans, meeting planned goals and coordinating with the marketing department on lead generation. The Sales Manager oversees the activities and performance of assigned sales team by tracking sales goals, sets individual sales targets, and facilitates the ongoing training of sales staff.
- Meet territory sales financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions.
- Establish sales objectives by creating a sales plan and quotas for account managers and distributors aligned with national objectives.
- Identify knowledge gaps withing team and develop a plan to fill them.
- Contribute territory sales information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews, prepare and complete action plans, implement quality and customer service standards, resolve problems, identify trends, determine regional sales system improvements, and implement change.
- Assist with presentations to key prospects, target accounts, and customers to drive sales growth.
- Respond to customer and prospect inquiries, RFPs, and bid requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Provide progress of sales projects at reasonable intervals or in response to specific inquiries.
- Stay abreast of and communicate to sales and marketing competitor changes, new strategies, pricing, introduction of new products, or changes in existing products.
- Maintain pricing strategy and prepare detailed business cases for special discounted pricing.
- Bachelor's degree in B usiness, Communication, Information Systems, or related field required.
- 7+ years of related experience in the utility segment desired .- Experience in the water industry is a plus.
- Advanced p roficiency in Microsoft Office preferred; basic knowledge required
- Advanced proficiency with CRM software preferred; basic knowledge required
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
- Experience delivering training and conducting professional presentations.

- Execution: Ensuring others contribute to organization strategies by focusing them on the most critical priorities; measuring progress and ensuring accountability against those metrics.
- Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment.
The target salary for this role is $105,000-$110,000 base plus competitive commission plan
