Receiving Manager

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Receiving Manager to oversee our warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in inventory management, logistics, and team leadership. This role is crucial for ensuring efficient shipping and receiving processes, maintaining inventory accuracy, and implementing process improvements to enhance overall warehouse performance.

Responsibilities

- Manage the receiving department to ensure timely and accurate processing of incoming shipments.

- Oversee inventory control practices to maintain optimal stock levels and minimize discrepancies.

- Implement and refine warehouse management systems to improve operational efficiency.

- Coordinate with logistics teams to facilitate smooth distribution of products.

- Train, supervise, and mentor warehouse staff to foster a productive team environment.

- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and safety standards within the warehouse.

- Conduct regular audits of inventory and processes to identify areas for improvement.

- Utilize mechanical knowledge for effective materials handling and equipment maintenance.

- Manage shipping & receiving activities, ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete.

- Collaborate with e-commerce teams to streamline order fulfillment processes.

Requirements

- Proven experience in warehouse management or as a warehouse supervisor with a focus on shipping & receiving operations.

- Strong knowledge of inventory management practices and logistics principles.

- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and AS400 software is preferred.

- Experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment safely.

- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required in a fast-paced environment.

- Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate and lead staff effectively.

- Understanding of process improvement methodologies to enhance operational workflows.

- Prior experience in 3PL environments is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
