Position Overview:
Under minimal supervision responsible for overseeing the implementation and maintenance of a compliant radiological control program for the DUF6 project. The specific work assignment may include duties or activities to support the organization in one or more of the following functional areas, in addition to other duties as assigned:
Functional:
•Oversees the development, implementation and maintenance of the DUF6 Radiological Control Program in accordance with 10 C.F.R. § 835, Occupational Radiation Protection
•Provides oversight to radiological operations and maintains documentation
•Directs internal audits and assessments to ensure the implementation of a strong radiation protection program
•Leads technical direction to Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H), Operations, and Maintenance personnel for radiological protection functions effectively controlling radiological hazards
•Guides the development, delivery, and evaluation of training modules on radiological control topics
•Serves as a delegated technical reference for all issues pertaining to radiation safety
•Generates reports on DUF6 site radiation safety performance metrics
•Stops/Suspends work of unsafe conditions potentially affecting personnel safety or environmental risk
•Hosts As Low as Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) committee meetings
•Interfaces with U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) representatives
Job Requirements
Minimum Requirements: (Must meet DOE O 426.2 minimum requirements)
•Bachelor’s Degree in science, health physics, or engineering or equivalent
•10+ years of related experience
•4+ years of nuclear experience with DOE radiological activities
•Ability to obtain and maintain a Homeland Security Presidential Directive (HSPD-12) credential
