The Quality Inspector is responsible for inspecting products to Bowers and Customer standards, performing first/last piece inspections to ensure they meet all requirements and supporting production staff in producing conforming products. They also work to improve quality control procedures and learn to stop any non-conforming material from getting to the customer. Including leading and supporting the Final inspectors with accurate training.
Quality Inspector(s) responsibilities in an organization typically include, but are not limited to the following:
· Approving completed goods for future processes and/or shipment.
· Performing Dock audits and Process Audits as required.
· Operating Lab Machines, such as, Keyence 3D scanner, Comparator, Height gage, Calips, Versa gage, LMM, Etc.
· Use of Light Booth and color hue inspections
· Assisting with PPAP reports, including measurements for dimensional call outs
· Reviewing the completed product, comparing it to the initial requirements, and accepting or rejecting the finished product that meets quality standards.
· Sorting parts; visually and/or with measurement devices
· Maintaining Documentation, Records and Data, E2, Filing/Reporting as necessary
· Checking in Aluminum Log Trucks, inspections, paperwork
· Other necessary tasks required by Quality Manager
· At least 2-4 years prior experience in the Quality/Production field is required.
· Knowledge of Aluminum Extrusions and Anodizing is preferred but not required.
· Must be able to read and understand blueprints, including measurements and tolerances, with references to GD&T.
· Strong ability to anticipate problems and propose viable solutions.
· Knowledgeable about both statistical methods and quality control procedures
· Excellent computer skills, including the ability to efficiently use Microsoft Word and Excel.
· Strong working knowledge of various mathematical concepts including fractions, ratios, and proportions.
· Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
· Ability to stand for long period of time, as well as walk far distances.
· Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision and be able to analyze and interpret information
