Quality Engineer acts as a key liaison between customers, suppliers, and internal teams. Reporting to the Director of Quality, this role ensures compliance with ISO standards, drives problem-solving and corrective actions, supports audits, and promotes continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.
· Act as liaison between Manufacturing, Quality, and Customers regarding specifications, requirements, and quality concerns.
· Review customer complaints and returns; conduct root cause analysis (8D) and recommend corrective actions.
· Lead and review capability studies, first piece inspections, and statistical data analysis; present results in graphical format.
· Monitor supplier performance; initiate, track, and close Supplier Corrective Actions (SCARs).
· Support and conduct supplier audits; maintain supplier quality systems.
· Develop and update QA procedures, testing methods, and quality improvement programs.
· Partner with Engineering and Sales to resolve application and product development issues.
· Audit manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with established procedures and prevent risks.
· Maintain organization and documentation of all QC/QA records, reports, and databases.
· Prepare and communicate daily/weekly quality reports to management.
· Provide technical support and answer quality-related inquiries from internal teams and customers.
· Travel as necessary to suppliers and company sites to resolve issues.
· Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Quality or designee.
· Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, or equivalent quality standards.
· Proficiency with root cause analysis, 8D, FMEA, PPAP, and statistical methods.
· Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field (or equivalent experience in galvanizing and roll form steel manufacturer).
· 3–5 years of experience in quality engineering within a manufacturing environment.
