A Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring the timely and effective implementation of all the company’s policies, procedures, and activities involved in assuring the quality of manufactured products. They maintain close working relationships with other department managers and supervisory personnel to meet and maintain product quality, identify, solve, and prevent problems affecting product quality, maximize productivity, and comply with regulatory requirements.
- Ensure the quality aspect is included in all operations and documented when needed.
- Organize, develop, and perform QA Audits for all operations.
- Use audit data to improve the process by performing root cause analysis and identifying solutions.
- Review customer and frontline feedback, perform root cause analysis, and identify solutions.
- Implement corrective actions based on findings.
- Coordinates that all quality-related documentation exists and is maintained in production
- operations
- Coordinate, manage, and document all calibrations of tooling and measuring equipment.
- Communicate with Production Teams to resolve quality issues.
- Help the organization with daily quality problems.
- Design and conduct training for Production Associates to target chronic quality issues.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality engineering or 5-10 years of supervisory experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated experience in managing quality systems, analyzing quality data, and conducting internal audits.
- Safety and quality focus with an open mind and an innovative spirit.
- Adept problem solver – logical and methodical approach in problem solving.
- Superior communication skills, written and verbal.
- High level of professionalism, honesty, and integrity.
- Strong interpersonal skills and detail-oriented.
- Must be able to read Engineering drawings and schematics.
- Ability to effectively multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously, independent of
- close supervision.
- Quality champion – capable of supporting ISO 9001 document requirements.
- Knowledge of advanced methodologies like lean manufacturing and six sigma analysis.
- Demonstrated capabilities to work collaboratively and cross-functionally while successfully
- developing and maintaining key professional and customer relationships.
- Current on the latest technology and quality best practices.
- Proficient with MS Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio, etc.
- Lean ERP, QuickBase, and Power BI knowledge required.
- Teamcenter software.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
- Technical background and experience with manufacturing processes, including metalworking, fabrication, welding, machining, and assembly practices.
- General knowledge of quality systems and supplier improvement methodologies.
