The Quality Engineer is responsible for supporting manufacturing processes, assisting with process / product troubleshooting. This QE will support the development of systems ensuring that products, analysis, processes, and documentation are being done according to various quality standards of Vulcan and its customers specific requirements.

- Provide support to production supervisors/engineers to ensure quality goals are being met.
- Plan, execute, and oversee inspections and testing of products to verity conformance with specifications and deliverables.
- Perform inspections as needed.
- Review risk and opportunity data to mitigate risks and / or realize opportunities.
- Conduct process audits to drive continuous improvements using quality tools (reduce scrap, product defects, process variation, and manufacturing risks).
- Systematize continuous improvement within processes and utilize KPI’s and metrics to assess effectiveness.
- Oversee and participate in the development of control plans, FMEA, PFD.
- Work closely with productions, engineering, and QC to understand new products and the details necessary to integrate them into the quality system. Periodically conduct and process validations, PPAPs, Gage R&R / MSA.
- Evaluate process control planning and execution to ensure requirements are met, verified, and adequately documented.
- Maintain, monitor, and report performance against quality objectives.
- Train employees on quality procedures: maintain training records.
- Oversee all quality audits, maintain records of audits, and coordinate response/closure to findings.
- Promote the 8D problem solving methodology throughout the organization.
- Review, evaluate, and investigate product or process rejections, identify root cause, and implement corrective action as needed.
- Interface with customers, vendors, and various company departments to resolve quality problems and provide information / technical support.
- Other projects and duties as required/assigned.
