Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated, strategic Quality Control professional to oversee quality programs for a large manufacturing/fabrication plant. The ideal candidate’s primary goal will be to manage, plan, coordinate, and lead the quality control program designed to ensure continuous production/service consistent with established industry and company standards. Additionally, you will oversee the development and analysis of statistical data and specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

- Administer, through Inspection Document Control Group, the organizing of established filing and recording systems for each project discipline are maintained, cataloged, and reviewed for completeness of all Quality Control Documents.

- Formulate and administer the quality control requirements in accordance with Client, engineering specifications, code and government regulation.

- Initiate action to prevent, stop, or correct the occurrence of quality control deficiencies, defective work and deficient reports.

- Develop additional quality procedures as required to cover special tests and/or audits.

- Inspect materials to ensure quality of all purchased parts and useability through fabrication phases.

- Perform lay-out, fit-up, and dimensional verifications in accordance with approved drawings.

- Perform Liquid Penetrant, and Visual Inspections of welds and materials.

- Document material traceability and inspections daily.

- Verify weldments are being completed in conjunction with drawings and applicable WPS.

- Interpret quality control philosophy to Production and other key personnel within Company.

- Perform inspection activity for product throughout production cycle.

- Maintain / Revise QC Manual as required

- Assist A.I. and supervisor during national board audit

- Maintain Welder Qualification Log

- Maintain shop traveler/weld map for jobs in shop

- Schedule A.I. inspections

- Supervise / perform hydrotesting

- Perform final inspection of all finished products for weld and fabrication deficiencies prior to shipping.

- Complete inspection traveler and test documentation

- Maintain test gauge and Q.C. equipment log

- Conduct inspections on quality of workmanship with vendors, sub-contractors, third-party outsourcing facilities, as needed

- Assist Production Manager in the training of welders, fabricators and fitters from a Q.C perspective

- Review shop packages prior to issuance to Production Manager

Competencies

- AWS CWI, API, NACE or other industry certifications required.

- Working knowledge of Construction Codes (ASME, API, AWS, etc.), ASME/NBIC as well as Codes and Regulations used in the areas in which work is performed

Education

- BA/BS or 10+ years’ experience or equivalent is required
