Champion is looking for Quality Control/Quality Assurance personnel to support work at Surry Nuclear Power Station in Surry, VA.
The Quality Control /Quality Assurance Inspector will be responsible for inspecting complex high precision equipment and parts and documenting results.
- Complete final inspection and inspection sheets as required documenting product conformity and/or non-conformance.
- Maintain a working knowledge of quality assurance procedure requirements as they apply to inspection and operations, specifically around coatings.
- Document nonconforming product and coatings as required by internal and/or customer requirements.
- Ensure that tooling used as media of acceptance remain calibrated according to internal and/or customer requirements.
- Ensure that product/material conformity documentation received from subcontractors satisfies engineering specifications
- Ensure correct material handling, identification and traceability of product throughout the manufacturing sequence.
- Perform all functions of a Quality Control/Quality Assurance Inspector as required by work load and production schedule needs
- High attention to detail in personal work as well as fellow team member’s work
- Changing and improving processes to increase productivity and competitiveness
- Meeting cost & schedule commitments while maintaining the utmost standards for quality
- Promote a team first attitude of cooperation and following company policies
- Minimum of 5 years practical working experience in the Nuclear or Manufacturing field.
- Working knowledge of Quality Standards
- Basic computing skills and functionality with standard Microsoft Office programs (e.g., Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong organizational skills, work planning skills, and the ability to work with a minimum of supervision.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities are required to tackle a wide range of unique problems.
- Strong verbal/written communication skills and effectiveness in interpersonal relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- NACE or AMPP certification is a huge asset
