Quality Control Inspector

Summary:

This role is one that requires manual labor in various weather conditions. The Quality Control Inspector is expected to strive for the truth, no matter the task at hand. As part of the Quality Department, the Quality Control team is essential in ensuring the quality of product prior to release. There will be use of precision measurement tools, including the use of a CMM; there will also be training the essential philosophies of Quality and its history, as well as training in NDT methods (namely magnetic particle, liquid penetrant, and visual inspection).

Qualifications:

1. Understanding of arithmetic and basic algebra.

2. Mature skill in reading and writing English.

3. Creative problem solving.

4. Objective, logical reasoning capability.

5. Effective time management and accountability.

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Monitor product quality through visual, dimensional, and other inspection and examination techniques.

2. Review received material certificates for compliance to all applicable requirements.

3. Read and interpret manuals, procedures, work instructions, and drawings.

4. Monitor the usability and calibration status of all TMMDE and aid in the maintenance of the TMDE Registry.

5. Keep equipment, including TMDE, and the work area clean and orderly with the intent of maintaining a safe, healthy, and productive work environment.

6. Report nonconformances and participate, as applicable, in their processing and closure.

7. Communicate with the QA / QC Manager and Operations personnel to resolve any issues with product quality.

8. Participate, as applicable, in the processing of Corrective Actions and other Quality Assurance methods.

9. Move and handle material and product using cranes, forklifts, and other means in a safe manner.

10. Maintain a positive attitude and sharp focus in continually improving GMI Group and its QMS.

11. Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
