Quality Assurance Technician, Water report to Supervisor. Quality Assurance Technician, Water inspect Water contract and maintenance meter work to ensure compliance with Division specifications, contract documents, and local/ national codes in Water Meter Repair. Inspect, test, and/or smart meter maintenance repair of water meters.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Inspect, test, and/or repair the
installation of water meter modules, registers, etc. performed by MLGW and Contractors. Inspect MLGW and contract work and materials to ensure an adequate quantity and quality of work is achieved; notify appropriate personnel
of work deficiencies and safety violations. Examine and field check that the technician is adhering to Division standards; make necessary field changes or repairs.
Review necessary paperwork such as time sheets and prepare reports and complete orders. Keep abreast the Division standards, policies and procedures, local and national codes and constructions practices. Operate
Division vehicle/radio and utilization of computer hardware equipment and software application. Perform other duties as assigned.
High School Diploma or General Educational Development (G.E.D).
Must have 2 - 4 years of journeyman level experience in a utility setting with
knowledge of the Water Metering processes. Four (4) years of experience
servicing residential and/or commercial metering.
Experience with troubleshooting smart meter communications (module, register, consumption
data, etc.). Must have Clevest and CT-60 experience.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Must have a valid driver's license from state of residence.
Must successfully complete NIMS training within one year of entering job. Physical Demands:
Works majority of time outside. The job will be subject to hazards of weather with
medium physical labor requirements.
There is a risk of electric shock. Subject to hazards of weather, electrical shocks, falls, dog bites, asphyxiation, meter
explosions, and working in high crime areas and insect bites.
The majority of time outside with subject to climbing, balancing, kneeling, bending, pulling,
pushing, sitting, standing and reaching. Requires medium lifting/carrying up to
50lbs.
