Job Summary: Responsible for the efficient execution of daily customer service, distribution and maintenance work orders. Conducts meter readings for billing, collections and master meter programs. Performs water testing, chlorination and sampling assignments. Responsible for Iowa One Call locate work orders. Locate connections for services and new meter installation. Lead technician for respective on-call group on a 5-week rotation.
· Responsible for efficient execution of daily water treatment assignments and water distribution work orders concerning customer service, meter readings, and maintenance tasks
· Locate connections for new services in designated areas
· Disinfection, flushing and sampling of new construction in designated areas
· Responsible for designated distribution area maintenance (example, make sure customer connections are placed correctly – height, etc., transmitters placed correctly, clean-out caps are still on, cleanup completed, excessive dirt removed from customer meter pits, extension rings placed where needed, etc)
· Lead technician for respective emergency on-call group and as such shall be the first employee of the group to respond to after-hour emergencies. Determine scope of problem, need for assistance, and appropriate action necessary
· Coordinate closely with all departments to ensure all necessary reports and records are effectively, efficiently, and accurately maintained.
· When necessary, complete special assignments related to other areas of IRUA operations as directed by management.
