POSITION OVERVIEW – Quality Assurance Manager
We are seeking a highly experienced Quality Assurance Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of QA/QC on large-scale industrial and commercial construction projects, specializing in oil & gas, petrochemical, and refinery facilities. This individual will be responsible for managing multidisciplinary inspection teams, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications, and driving quality excellence across all construction phases.
Key Responsibilities:
•Lead QA/QC programs across civil, structural, mechanical, I&E, coatings, and modular installations.
•Manage and mentor large teams of inspectors across all disciplines.
•Review and approve all project quality procedures and ITPs.
•Conduct internal audits, root cause analyses, and implement corrective/preventive actions.
•Oversee inspections including pump alignments, hydro testing, static and rotating equipment installation, furnace installations, cooling tower installations, fireproofing, and final modular installations.
•Perform shop visits for fabrication audits and inspections to ensure compliance with specifications.
•Ensure documentation compliance including inspection records, NCRs, weld logs, and turnover packages.
•Coordinate with operations, engineering, construction, and HSE teams to align QA efforts with project goals.
•Promote and maintain site safety culture during all inspection and QA activities.
•Interface with project managers, EPC contractors, third-party inspectors, and client QA departments.
•Conduct final inspections and approvals prior to mechanical completion and turnover.
Required Qualifications:
•Minimum 10 years of QA/QC experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, or refinery construction projects.
•Proven experience managing large multidisciplinary QA/QC teams.
•Strong knowledge of ASME, API, AWS, ACI, ASTM, TXDOT, and industry standards.
•Experience with non-destructive testing coordination and radiographic film interpretation.
•Extensive hands-on inspection experience across all major construction phases and disciplines.
•Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and QA documentation systems.
•Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
•Ability to conduct training, toolbox talks, and pre-job briefings focused on quality and safety expectations.
•Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred).
Certifications (Required or Strongly Preferred):
•AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
•ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade I
•Post-Tensioning Institute Level II Unbonded Inspector
•OSHA 10 Hour Safety Certification
•Additional NDT certifications (MT, PT, RT interpretation) highly preferred
Preferred Experience:
•Quality management for other major operators in the industry
•Oversight of modular fabrication and installation projects.
•Prior military service with leadership responsibilities is a plus.
