Position Summary

Operate a punch press efficiently to produce quality parts that meet or exceed customer specifications for quality, cost, and delivery using the most economical methods.

Stamping – Punch Press Operator

Key Responsibilities

Press Operation & Production

- Operate 600 and 800 ton stamping presses according to work instructions and safety standards.

- Perform setups, adjustments, and changeovers to meet production schedules.

- Accurately enter production data into the PLEX system.

Quality & Inspection

- Inspect parts during production runs to ensure they meet quality and dimensional requirements.

- Work with the Quality Department to address concerns and resolve issues.

- Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and inspection requirements.

- Use precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges, comparators).

Efficiency & Equipment Care

- Achieve run-time efficiency goals while minimizing scrap and downtime.

- Assist in troubleshooting and basic maintenance of tooling and presses.

- Identify and recommend improvements to setup, run times, and part quality.

Safety & Workplace Standards

- Strictly follow all safety procedures and use required PPE.

- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area following 5S standards.

- Support environmental and company policy compliance.

- Perform other tasks as assigned to support operations.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

- Previous experience operating a punch press or multislide equipment is preferred.

- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.

- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

- Strong commitment to safety and quality.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

- Ability to lift at least 25 lbs.

- Must be able to move freely within the office and work area.

- Requires independence, sound judgment, and discretion in performing job duties.

- Great hand and eye coordination.

- Exposure to noise, dust, and metal particles in a manufacturing setting.

- Role may require standing, bending, lifting, mobility across the production floor and working with hands for extended periods.

- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

- Responsibilities may change based on operational needs.

Schedule:

- On-Site

- Monday to Friday (Potential for overtime or Saturdays) 6AM-4:30PM

- Sunday to Wednesday (Potential for overtime) 8PM-6AM
