About This Job


Position Summary

Roseburg manufacturer of pre-engineered pumping systems (i.e., booster pump stations and lift stations) seeking sales, technical, and design development support for new and existing customers. This job involves 15% travel and 85% in office.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

Develop preliminary pumping system designs from information provided by the Sales Department.
Review Site Civil Plans and other project information in order to develop a preliminary design.
Discuss aspects of any pumping system in order to clearly understand the intent and/or objective of any proposed project.
Interface directly with Romtec Utilities Sales, Design, Engineering in order to clarify the objective of each project and then determine the best structural, mechanical and electrical design.
Writing Specifications (CSI and other formats are required)
Evaluate electrical load requirements
Interface directly with various vendors and Romtec Estimating in order to determine the Romtec cost for each proposed pumping system.


Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)


It is critical that the Sales Engineer:

2-Year associates degree in engineering related field
Is a motivated, self-starter with strong written and verbal communication.
Able to read side civil/mechanical/electrical plans.
Has professional Sales or Customer Service experience.
Has strong computer skills.
Understands AutoCAD
Understands Civil Construction Principles and Methods


Other Qualifications:

2-year degree with a preference given to a 4-Year Degree in Engineering, Business or Construction Management
Understanding of the public procurement process is a plus
Has general construction experience with civil, mechanical, and electrical engineering work.
Strong understanding of Electrical is a plus.

All potential employee who will be engaged in any physical activity will take an agility and hearing test, provided. These tests are intended to assist the supervisor in evaluating the demands of the position relative to the results of the test. Once a candidate is considered for the position Human Resources will work with the candidate to schedule an appointment for the agility and hearing testing. The test will be performed by a medical facility or an industrial physical testing provider. Romtec will cover the charges of these test that are required.
