POSITION: Automation Engineer - Pumping Stations

products for the irrigation market, including centrifugal and submersible
pumps, pump stations, grooved fittings, specialty valves, and other

market.
Our company is seeking a skilled Automation Engineer to lead the design,
programming, and support of control systems for pumping stations used
primarily in the irrigation industry. Our systems play a key role in
delivering efficient, reliable water management solutions. In this role,
you will contribute to the development of advanced automation technologies
that improve system performance, enhance reliability, and support the
evolving needs of irrigation and broader water movement markets.
Primary
JOB DUTIES
Design and implement automation and control systems using PLCs and
HMIs.
Develop and maintain system architecture, including detailed wiring diagrams
and electrical schematics for control panels and equipment.
Program and troubleshoot PLC-based control systems.
Configure and deploy HMI interfaces to support intuitive system monitoring and
control.
Ensure that all control panel designs and documentation meet UL 508A standards
and other applicable codes.
Collaborate with Engineering, Product Management, and Production teams to
ensure seamless integration of automation solutions.
Evaluate and improve system performance, reliability, and safety over
time.
Provide technical support and detailed documentation to internal teams,
external customers, and outside service teams as needed.
Participate in station test setup, testing and programming for functionality.
Additional
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational
workshops and reviewing professional publications.
Proactively seeks opportunities to engage with and support the team - team
player.

Qualifications Minimum of 1+ years of experience in industrial automation, preferably in
fluid handling, water/wastewater, or HVAC systems.
Proficiency in PLC programming.
Experience in developing wiring diagrams and schematic drawings.
Familiarity with HMI development and industrial communications (e.g.,
Modbus, Ethernet/IP).
Knowledge and practical application of UL 508A standards for control panel
design and certification.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Effective written and verbal communication and the ability to manage technical
documentation.
Preferred: Experience with pump control logic, variable frequency drives
(VFDs), and process instrumentation (e.g., pressure, flow, level
sensors).
Preferred: Knowledge of industrial control panel construction and
certification processes.
Preferred: Understanding o remote monitoring and IIoT integration.
