The Project Manager I is responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of major capital projects. This will include but is not limited to Land, Regulatory, Environmental, Engineering/Design, Contracts, Construction and Project Closeout. This position coordinates with project team members and contract resources to effectively oversee the investments and improvements being made into the company’s infrastructure. The Project Manager is expected to work independently in completing their tasks. They will use a variety of programs to track, organize and report on budgets, schedules, and project finances. The Project Manager use related programs extensively to keep themselves, team members, and management updated on project statuses. The Project Manager I will possess the necessary skills and training to oversee the quality of project work and carry out the Project Manager responsibilities effectively.
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Leads and oversees all aspects of major capital projects
- Researches and analyzes data such as project scopes, customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design and/or application
- Conducts optimizations, troubleshooting, and feasibility studies
- Communicates with project teams to outline work plan and assign team member responsibilities
- Coordinates goals, work responsibilities, and resources to monitor work performance in alignment with business objectives
- Communicates with internal and external business partners to determine needs and level of satisfaction, to determine current priorities, and to obtain technical advice
- Verifies that work products conform to applicable codes, standards, specifications, and requirements of internal/external business partners
- Supervises the work of internal/external resources to ensure that quality and quantity of work are met
- Prepares reports, specifications, plans, studies and/or designs
- Provides engineering information and or technical advice, investigating all variables for consideration of possible solutions
- Tracks and communicates status of projects to management

- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of one year experience in the design, construction, or operations of natural gas transmission facilities
- Ability to lead a team of others in area of expertise, in team meetings and management updates
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Ability to analyze and communicate findings effectively to management, providing recommendations where needed
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of Federal/State/Local regulations
- Knowledge of pipeline material/equipment, construction and facility safety, construction best-practices, environmental compliance, and risk management
- Knowledge of natural gas transmission regulations, company policies and procedures
- Valid Driver’s License- 2+ years of experience in the design, construction, or operations of natural gas transmission facilities
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline
- Fundamentals of Engineering Certificate
- Knowledge of gas pipeline operations
- Experience using financial reporting and project execution software
- Ability to work overtime
- Ability to work in varying office conditions
- Ability to work and effectively prioritize in a fast-paced environment while remaining positive
- Ability to travel up to 25% on average, by car and/or plane
