Senior Project Manager – Transmission Project Management Organization – Execution or Execution Regulatory Job Summary

This position may be filled either on our regulatory team or our execution team depending on the skills of the successful candidate(s). For the regulatory team, the position will be responsible for the development and execution activities associated with transmission line and substation capital construction projects for transmission projects in Georgia. The Project Manager drives project development and execution, coordinates the design, engineering, procurement, construction, and closeout of projects. For the execution team, the position will be responsible for the Gates 3 – 5 execution activities. The Project Manager monitors project progress, schedules, and budgets with special attention to areas identified as high-risk, oversees the project change management process, and conducts post project reviews and shares lessons learned. Individuals in these roles are considered project management subject matter experts (SME) and will engage in intentional mentorship, project management training, and knowledge transfer to project managers and other team members. These individuals will be involved in complex, high exposure projects, and large projects with expedited timeframes while ensuring stakeholder satisfaction by managing expectations and delivering high quality results.

JOB REQUIREMENTS Educational/Certification Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology preferred.

- PE Certification a plus.

- PMP or other PM Certification a plus.

- 5+ years of Transmission/Power Delivery experience and 3+ years as a transmission project manager is required.


Technical Experience Requirements

- Ability to demonstrate and share knowledge of the transmission system, engineering principles, electric operating practices, construction practices, land requirements and regulations, budgeting, scheduling, and general business practices. Viewed by others as a Subject Matter Expert in project management principles.

- Direct experience developing and executing projects with project management principles and techniques including the Gated Process.

- Strong experience in Transmission is required. Experience in managing area execution, specialized execution, new business, customer choice and/or high exposure projects is required.

- Strong analytical skills to evaluate progress, identify problem areas, evaluate alternatives, and determine viable solutions.

- Experience analyzing, projecting, and controlling project costs over time.

- Ability to proactively manage communication among team members, stakeholders, other departments, and all levels of leadership.

- Knowledge of the Transmission system and customer focused with strong interpersonal skills

- Ability to lead projects involving multiple work groups and departments

- Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, including executives, management, supervision, covered employees, contract employees, business leaders, and customers

- Strong presentation skills with internal and external audiences

- Ability to work with cost analysts to perform financial analysis, manage capital budgets and provide accurate budget projections

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

- Ability to develop and manage multiple project schedules, work plans, and budgets

- Experience with STOMP, TEAMS (Transmission Estimating and Management System), SOAR, and/or P6/Primavera preferred

- Knowledge of contract administration

- Ability to foster a positive and collaborative team environment
