Position Description: Awen is searching for a Project Manager to join our interdisciplinary Team. This role involves overseeing and performing day-to-day program/project management tasks for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System (GLAHS). The Project Manager must be able to interact professionally with senior leaders, employing time management skills and the ability to identify and anticipate their needs. The Project Manager will collaborate with other program and project managers, healthcare planners, engineers, community partners, and other stakeholders to support various program initiatives. These efforts aim to ensure quality care and access to healthcare and service for Veterans, their families, caregivers, and survivors at VA’s West Los Angeles (WLA) Campus and other locations within the system.
The Project Manager’s primary responsibilities are outlined below:
•Lead discussions, coordination, and process management for Strategic Facilities and Master Planning initiatives on behalf of the Federal Government.
•Lead regular and timely communications with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring all parties are informed of project status, issues, and required actions.
•Identify and address client needs related to federal program and project management.
•Collaborate with customers and contract personnel to develop and track project plans and deliverables.
•Guide, plan, and oversee the creation, maintenance, and access to comprehensive scheduling documents for all management levels.
•Create succinct and informative slide decks for senior executives, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment with design guidelines.
•Attend meetings, take detailed notes, synthesize key takeaways, and record comprehensive summaries for distribution to executives and attendees.
•Coordinate, facilitate, and schedule meetings, ensuring efficient organization and effective communication among participants.
•Track and monitor upcoming deliverables, identifying dependencies to ensure timely execution and alignment with project scopes.
Required Skills & Experiences:

•Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited school and 3+ years of experience in project or program management.
•In-depth knowledge of program/project management principles, concepts, and techniques; familiarity with product standards, industry practices, regulations, and policies; and the ability to apply broad knowledge from related fields to your area of expertise.
•Ability to read, understand, and interpret project management documents like Communications Plans, Project Charters, Risk Registers, Requirements Matrices, and Integrated Master Schedules.
•Ability to facilitate project team interactions and enhance team member capabilities.
•Proficient in synthesizing data from various sources to create presentations, briefings, decision memos, and white papers for diverse internal and external audiences.
•Skilled in overseeing, scheduling, coordinating, and directing project activities, including work assignments, monitoring, and performance evaluation.
•Adept at clearly and precisely communicating and presenting status, actions, recommendations, and technical information to diverse stakeholder groups.
•Must possess strong listening, negotiation, communication, writing, and interpersonal skills, along with excellent observation and organizational skills.
•Proven ability to operate a personal computer to enhance daily tasks, with proficiency in MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint, etc.).
•Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritizing and balancing workload to meet deadlines and achieve objectives.
•Must possess strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness in all tasks and deliverables.
