The Project Manager oversees the successful execution of commercial construction projects from concept to completion. Responsibilities include planning and coordination, such as conducting site visits, defining project scope, creating schedules, managing budgets and cost allocations, monitoring milestones and KPIs, providing status updates, and ensuring effective cross-functional collaboration. Serving as the primary liaison between the client and the construction team, the Project Manager fosters a supportive environment, mentors team members, and promotes open communication.
The Project Manager cultivates collaborative relationships with subcontractors, site superintendents, and suppliers to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes. PM is accountable for maintaining high service standards and ensuring the quality of work meets or exceeds expectations. This role is primarily office-based, with regular field visits as needed.
1. Consistently collaborate with the CEO, Business Development Manager, Construction Team, and Administration to provide clear, timely communication in efforts to maintain team alignment regarding all project progress, information, and critical decisions. This is key to meeting project milestones and exceeding client expectations.
2. Make confident project-related decisions and provide sound judgment, supporting your choices with clear reasoning. Engage the right team members in the decision-making processes to foster a collaborative environment.
3. Always cultivate strong client relationships by keeping them updated on project progress and addressing their needs proactively. This role is instrumental in managing client interactions and resolving any challenges that arise.
4. Conduct Project site meetings and conduct regular job site inspections. Ensure all work follows relevant codes, standards, regulations, and all project specifications. Accountable for overall project delivery schedule, budget, coordinating, and ability to identify long lead materials to mitigate risk of delay.
5. Maintain oversight to ensure excellence ensuring projects align with client contracts, goals, and budgets. Clearly communicate project expectations, tasks, and deadlines to the team and vendors in a professional and respectful manner.
