The Project Manager is responsible for carrying out project engineering for Global Design Innovation Ltd, and any other company as may be added to GDi’s portfolio. This role plays an essential part of the success of the business by ensuring that GDi continues to drive innovation and deliver commercially viable products, to achieve the Companies objectives of growth and profitability.
Role provides the opportunity to work in a hybrid environment, working both virtually and in office when required.
- Coordinates a series of activities performed by engineers and designers from a range of engineering discipline to support the timely issuing of engineering and construction deliverables to meet project specifications.
- Review Client proposals/requirements issue enquiries, prepare equipment, material and man-hour estimates.
- Review contract requirements for project execution.
- Identify a clear scope of work/supply and accordingly plan/schedule the engineering and construction activities and manpower resource. Identify and quantify total number of engineering and construction deliverables, man-hour allocation, format of delivery, time schedules and other requirements for execution of the work.
- Coordinate with projects and planning on project time schedules, establish target completion dates, ensure target dates are achieved.
- Direct the preparation of technical inquiry to vendors, participate in the technical evaluation of vendor bid offers. Direct and provide guidance in the evaluations, review vendor drawings and documents.
- Ensure vendor equipment specifications meet with client equipment specifications, within scheduled timeframes and are within budgeted costs.
- Develop Manpower charts and schedules, recommend, assign and distribute manpower for the execution of engineering and construction activities within budgeted project man-hours.
- Recommend cost effective measures to reduce overall manpower costs.
- Coordinate the preparation of Purchase Orders for the procurement of equipment and materials.
- Interface and regularly meet with client and vendor representatives, conduct internal staff meetings, ensure the progress of project is in accordance to schedule, allotted man hours and budgeted costs.
- Coordinate with projects and planning departments on schedule related issues.
- Participate in HAZOP meeting with the client and representatives of the other engineering disciplines.
- Preparation and execution of Risk Assessments as required.
- Participate in incident investigations as required.
- Interact with Quality Assurance for quality issues; strictly ensure compliance with Company’s ISO Quality procedures. Coordinate
- Internal and Client audit requests, facilitate audit procedures of engineering and construction systems.
- Provide clarification and guidance and technical support to construction sites.
- Workpack management.
- Coordinate and manage offshore Construction through to scope completion.
- Ensures Company meets its contractual obligation.
- Comply with relevant codes of conduct.
- Ensure that all work complies with the Company and Contract Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures as appropriate.
- Report any incidents/near misses, hazards, unsafe acts/conditions, or positive behaviour to a responsible person immediately, and participate in incident investigations where required.
- Actively participate in HSE meetings, toolbox talks, risk assessments, HSE audits, and other relevant meetings where required.
- Perform work responsibly, taking account of environmental, social and economic requirements.
- International travel as needed.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 8 years of Project Management experience or similar multi-disciplinary leadership role.
- Minimum five years’ experience with Project Lifecycle Management Skills (Project Management and Engineering, Fabrication, Testing, Mobilization and Offshore Execution).
- Minimum five years’ experience with enterprise management software.
- Minimum five years’ experience with Offshore / oilfield/Vessel/Rig operational experience.
- Must hold/maintain a valid passport and be able to obtain visas for international travel.
- PMP Certification.
