We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager with expertise in communication systems and power plant control projects. The ideal candidate will oversee the planning, execution, and successful completion of projects related to SCADA systems, DCS, communication networks, and control systems for power plants. This role requires strong technical knowledge, stakeholder management skills, and project execution experience in the energy sector
How you can make an impact:
Project Planning & Execution:
•Develop project scope, schedules, budgets, and milestones.
•Define project deliverables and ensure adherence to technical specifications.
Communication & Control Systems:
•Coordinate the implementation of SCADA, DCS, PLC, RTU, and other power plant control systems.
•Coordinate solutions of fiber optics, microwave, and wireless communication networks for power plants and substations.
Stakeholder & Client Management:
•Collaborate with utilities, vendors, and internal teams to ensure seamless integration of communication and control systems.
•Ensure compliance with industry standards (IEC 61850, IEEE, NERC, etc.).
Risk & Compliance Management:
•Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
•Ensure adherence to safety and regulatory requirements.
Resource & Budget Management:
•Track project progress and report to senior management.
•Allocate resources effectively and monitor project costs.
•Effectively monitors and controls efficient resource utilization.
•Testing & Commissioning:
•Review and approve factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT).
•Ensure smooth commissioning and operational readiness of communication and control systems.
•Ensure that projects are formally closed out, as contractually agreed. Drives the formal acceptance of the project, contract close-out and its acknowledgement by the customer.
•Contract claims and procurement management.
•Ensures that the project consistently applies contract and claims management, in accordance with EPE policies and contractual agreements.Ensures that required procurement activities for services, materials and equipment for the project from external and internal suppliers are performed by the assigned resources.
Stakeholder relations
•Acts as key contact for the customer and escalation point for project issues.
•Builds and maintains strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and effectively communicates with all stakeholders.
Health, safety and environment (HSE)
•Ensures the project follows and complies with company health, safety, and environmental policies.
People leadership and development
•Develops project execution staff through formal and informal mentoring and coaching.
Qualifications:
Bring your passion, here's what’s needed:
•Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, Power Systems, or a related field from an accredited program.
•5-10 years of experience in project management within the power sector
•Proven expertise in SCADA, DCS, EMS, communication networks, and automation.
•Strong background in fiber optics, microwave, and IP-based communication systems.
•Experience with power plant control systems, protection relays, and cybersecurity.
•Proven ability to develop business and establish relationships with clients.
•Ability to identify opportunities and lead proposals / pursuit efforts. Proven ability to develop business and establish relationships with clients.
•Ability to handle large volumes of work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. This position requires an individual capable of applying intensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices to broad areas of assignments.
•Strong experience with document control, scheduling, cost control and project management software.
•Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
•Previous consulting experience preferred but not required.
