The role of the Project Manager is to plan, execute, and finalize projects within strict deadlines and budgets. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and subcontractors to deliver projects according to plan. The Project Manager will also assist in defining the project’s objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle.
You will work closely with approved subcontractors, design, structural, and electrical engineers, warehouse managers, and material vendors. As a Project Manager, you will serve as the primary point of contact and conduit for all project-related activities occurring at the client site. This position reports to the Director of Operations.
To drive the project life-cycle, ensuring projects are completed accurately, on time, and within budget. Set proper expectations with subcontractors and maintain excellent communication with the client regarding each project step.
- Direct and manage project execution from beginning to end
- Review and interpret prime contracts, subcontracts, and exhibits to ensure full understanding of scope, exclusions, and requirements
- Lead weekly project meetings and provide updated two-week look-ahead schedules
- Order necessary materials for each project in coordination with the company’s procurement team
- Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals
- Define and drive project expectations with team members and clients
- Identify and resolve issues and conflicts that may arise with the project or team members
- Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools
- Proactively manage changes in project scope
- Contract Compliance and Enforcement
- Accurately communicate project progress both verbally and electronically in Procore
- Perform site evaluations of project sites
- Responsible for subcontractor oversight, compliance with scopes, and ensuring daily logs/Procore updates
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision, maintain own work schedule, identify and mitigate contractual risks, and escalate issues to the Director of Operations
- Possess excellent attention to detail and maintain a high level of accuracy
- Maintain a detailed understanding of products and technologies, and specifications used by DGS
- Ability to prepare and present accurate project timelines and expectations to installers and clients
- Individuals must have excellent written and verbal communication skills to represent DGS professionally to clients and outsource installers
- Individuals must be competent enough to understand and interpret OSHA standards, code requirements, and municipality requirements
- Must be able to travel with overnight stays. Travel is subject to project needs
- Bachelor's Degree
- Five years of construction project management experience or related experience
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated success in managing budgets, schedules, and subcontractors
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contracts
- Organized and self-motivated
- OSHA 10
- NABCEP certification
- Experience in renewable energy projects, particularly solar PV and BESS
- Procore experience & Tech-savvy with Google Apps, MS Excel, Word, MSProject, and other project scheduling software
- Journeyman or Master electrician certification
