- A diploma in a civil engineering technology or a relevant applied science technology program
- Able to understand and implement processes and practices for project scheduling and cost control.
- Experience with bidding, estimating, and quantity take-offs

- Job performed on a mine or construction site including exposure to dust; noise; hot and/or cold temperatures; and in proximity of vehicles and other heavy equipment
- Shift is usually 8-plus hours per day, five days a week. Overtime may be required.
- Possible risk of ergonomic-related injury, repetitive stress injury, etc.
- Mental strain due to remaining alert for long hours, maintaining safe working procedures
- PPE required while on site
RESPONSIBILITIES
1) Bidding & Estimating – Prepare estimates of probable costs of materials, labour, and equipment for based on contract bids, quotations, drawings, and specifications. Advise on tendering procedures, examine, and analyze tenders, recommend tender awards, and conduct negotiations. Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures..
2) Project Coordination – Ensure project team adheres to provided timelines and deliverables. Certify documentation is maintained throughout the length of the project. Communicate plans, actions, risks, and issues with key stakeholders. Solve any issues that may arise during the project. Coordinate the procurement of materials and supplies with Forepersons, Superintendents, Project Managers, and the Purchasing Manager. Analyze project data and produce progress reports.
3) Relationships – Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors. Liaise, consult, and communicate with engineers, architects, other registered professionals, owners, contractors, and subcontractors.
4) Standard Corporate Responsibilities – Maintain the stability and reputation of the organization by complying with legal requirements. Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish the job results. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Be conversant with relevant sections of the Health & Safety Program. Understand WorkSafeBC acts and regulations, as well as the Health, Safety and Reclamation Code for Mines in BC.
