Position Summary:
Our Buyers are responsible for sourcing, strategic commodity development, and the monitoring and execution of the purchasing process. Additionally, a Buyer is responsible for initiating and implementing continuous improvement initiatives for cost, quality, and delivery. This position reports directly to the Purchasing Manager, North America and works closely with the FSP and Operations departments. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•Responsible for sourcing of all commodities in projects
•Responsible for savings and following the resources PPCN/SREA
•Responsible for sourcing new parts
•Responsible for requesting RFQs at the correct suppliers
•Close cooperation with SDE in identifying the weak points in the sourcing commodities
Qualifications:
•Master's or minimum bachelor’s degree or equal by experience
•2 to 5 years of purchase experience, preferably in the automotive sector
•Technical interest is required; mechanical or material knowledge is a plus
•Knowledge of relevant quality standards required; experience with ISO 9001, ISO/TS 16949, ISO 14001, and/or others a plus.
•Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including excellent negotiation skills, illustrated by successfully meeting and/or exceeding expectations on pricing/rates, terms, and other deliverables.
•Exceptional interpersonal skills; proven track record of building and maintaining relationships while balancing short-term needs and long-term objectives.
•Strong quantitative and analytical capabilities; ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex information and apply to practical situations.
•Proven history of personal initiative, efficiency, attention to detail, managing multiple projects simultaneously, and performing quality work within deadlines with or without supervision.
•PC proficiency required, including MS Office. Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) package is a required. Knowledge of other industry-specific or custom software is a plus.
