The open-pit gold mine is a joint venture between IAMGOLD and Sumitomo Metal Mining Co. Ltd. and is operated by IAMGOLD. We are located near Gogama, Ontario, with access to stable infrastructure and strong connections with our local communities.

Project Specialist
The Project Specialist is accountable for supporting the engineering, cost, schedule, quality, reporting and overall coordination for the engineering, procurement and construction phases of assigned projects within the Earthworks Department at IMG.
Key Responsibilities
Area 1:
Support the development and implementation of safe and reliable capital projects.
•Support the interface between contractors and Cote Gold departments to develop the overall engineering for assigned projects from the design phase through implementation.
•Work closely with other Cote Gold departments to ensure a clear scope of work and proper business case justification
•Support the development of scopes of work for internal review
•Liaise with cross-functional teams, including operations, maintenance and supply chain to facilitate seamless project execution.
•Develop cost estimates for project scope and obtain approvals through the authorization for expenditure process.
•Monitor costs throughout the project lifecycle and provide updated schedule and cost forecasts.
•Identify project delivery risk and develop mitigation strategies to safeguard the assigned project outcomes.
•Support effective execution of all aspects of the project team deliverables, including direct technical deliverables, as well as environmental, safety and regulatory deliverables.
•Provide input into technical deviation requests.
•Coordinate requests from third party contractors and consultants.
•Create work orders and change orders
•Participate in engineering reviews as required.
•Ensure appropriate project controls are in place and analyzed such that real time knowledge of project execution is available, understood and acted upon.
Area 2:
Operational Excellence
•Seek opportunities to improve the Earthworks department.
•Be proactive and solution driven and implement operational improvements.

•Continually seek to improve your skills as a Project Specialist.
•Identify and resolve inefficiencies or problems through collaboration with the Cote and contractor teams.
•Work collaboratively to troubleshoot and resolve problems.
•Consider risk amongst the five dimensions (production, time, quality, sustainability and cost).
Area 3:
Work Collaboratively with Others to Deliver Operational Reliability.
•Foster an inclusive work environment.
•Coordinate with other team members on site to meet shift deliverables.
•Participate in and lend your expertise to the team.
•Communicate clearly and effectively using the tools provided.
•Ensure equipment logs and shift logs are accurate and complete.
•Ensure any deficiencies are communicated to the appropriate team members for follow-up.
•Participate in multi-disciplinary teams to deliver on our commitment to our team, our communities, the environment, and our shareholders.
Safety & Sustainability Expectations
Maintain a cooperative interest in the health and safety of yourself, your fellow workers and local communities. Wear PPEs at all times if in production environments. Be alert and observe, correct and report unsafe conditions. Follow operating procedures and comply with all regulatory requirements. Ensure that work areas are in compliance with all of IAMGOLD's Health and Safety policies and the Occupational Health and Safety Acts in the applicable jurisdiction. Intervene as necessary, to ensure the safety of others in the workplace. Provide safety leadership by always setting a good example.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements and Nice To Haves
minimum qualifications, formal education, certifications or equivalents
•We are looking for one incumbent with a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. or a related field.
•PMP (Project Management Professional) is considered an Asset.
Work experience - Nature & Length
•A minimum of 3 years of related work experience.
•Previous experience in open pit mining or mineral processing (specifically gold processing) is considered an asset.
Additional qualifications - Competency requirements
•Knowledge of applicable codes and legislation in mining and construction.
•Proficiency in computer applications and project systems.
•Ability to communicate effectively.
•Ability to work independently and in team settings.
•Ability to work effectively under pressure.
•Good observational and analytical skills.
•Must be able to handle a high level of confidentiality.
Leadership Requirements
•No direct leadership requirements
•Exercise personal leadership and ability to demonstrate values consistent with Côté Gold.
Working Environment
•Work involves limited exposure to disagreeable conditions.
•Physical environment is generally safe and there is minimal health risk.
•Some physical effort or considerable sensory demand.
•Sitting, standing and/or constant movement over modest periods of time (i.e. less than half the workday) without choice of action.
•Occasional lifting of moderately heavy objects causing modest fatigue.
•Frequent periods of visual or auditory concentration without choice of action.
•Rotational based role (14 days on 14 days off)
