About the Role
The Project Developer will be responsible for supporting the development and management of a pipeline of utility-scale wind, solar, and storage projects in ERCOT. This is a highly collaborative role leveraging the support of the internal team and external consultants to obtain land, interconnection, permits, and other crucial project milestones.
•Work with Managers and Directors to identify areas suitable for the development of utility-scale renewable energy and/or storage projects in assigned markets.
•Support the management and creation of project schedules, checklists, budgets, and maintain strong document control.
•Lead site control efforts and coordinate communications and events with land agents and landowners.
•Participate in and support permitting processes.
•Communicate with internal and external subject matter experts to gather information about the prospective development area and advance and de-risk the project.
•Represent Nova Clean Energy with landowners, state and local officials, regulators, utilities, RTOs, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication throughout the project development process with a high level of accuracy and integrity.
About You
You have a few years of experience in the energy industry and enjoy working with a diverse array of stakeholders. You’re organized and can create multi-year schedules and budgets for large, multi-faceted projects. You have strong communication and relationship-building skills, and thrive in a nimble and adaptive business environment.
•Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or related field with relevant work experience
•2+ years of relevant work experience
•Individuals with experience in land acquisition within oil and gas industry are encouraged to apply
•Knowledge in two or more of the following is required: real estate and land acquisition, discretionary permitting, the interconnection process, a technical understanding of wind, solar and/or storage projects, RFP assembly and response and PPA negotiations support, and/or wholesale market/RTO market operations knowledge
•Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
•Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
•Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a flat organization
•Ability to travel domestically as needed
•Ability to operate a motor vehicle and possession of a valid driver’s license
