Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic Project-based Machine Learning Engineer / Researcher specializing in Computer Vision to join our team to help improve and retrain a second-generation computer vision model for image detection and classification tasks. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research and development projects focused on applying machine learning techniques to real-world problems. The ideal candidate will be passionate about AI, possess strong technical expertise, and thrive in a collaborative environment driven by innovation.

Responsibilities

- Improve and retrain an existing computer vision model for object detection and classification.

- Work with image datasets for training and evaluation.

- Write efficient, maintainable code in Python to support research initiatives and software development efforts.

- Optimize model performance for small object detection and dense scenes.

- Perform data preprocessing, augmentation, and dataset preparation.

- Evaluate model performance using metrics such as precision, recall, F1 score, and mAP.

- Document model training results and recommendations.

- Data preparation will not be required.

Requirements

- Strong programming experience with Python and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch.

- Background in AI, machine learning, natural language processing, or robotics within a computer science or related field.

- Proven experience with computer vision models for object detection.

- Familiar with common frameworks such as YOLO, Faster R-CNN, RetinaNet, DETR, or similar.

- Experience with dataset labeling, preprocessing, and augmentation.

- Experience training models using GPU environments.

Preferred Experience

- Experience with scientific image analysis or microscopy images.

- Experience with small-object detection.

- Experience working with noisy datasets.

- MSc, or PhD, or strong experience.

Pay: Up to $6,000.00 per month
